The York Hinge is manufactured by Ferrartis Ltd. based in York and the Company’s manufacturing arm is an accredited manufacturer of high quality fabricated components supplying the rail industry, therefore are well accustomed to working to a strict regime of conformity to both quality and strength.

The Company was granted License to manufacture and market the patented York Hinge (Pat No 2396631) in 2009 and has since invested in new tooling and generally re-engineered this product to meet the rigorous demands of the lighting industry.

We can supply the Hinge unit as a retro-fit for simply converting existing lighting columns to raise and lower. This represents a massive saving for the Client against column replacement because it attracts no DNO costs.

Alternatively, the York Hinge can now be supplied pre-fixed to a new column complete - at a very competitive price.

The York Hinge enables one man to drop and raise the column effortlessly; by simply using a lightweight 8mm security Allen key which represents a further saving.

A further advantage is that the lowering plane is fully independent from the service door position so that the service door can be conveniently positioned, yet the drop direction can be exactly where you want it.

(This overcomes the traditional problems associated with walls, bushes, branches and traffic etc)
